NYC Cares Day Event

posted 10/26/2017

As part of City National’s Community PRIDE Day this past weekend, several of our colleagues got their creative juices flowing during the New York Cares Day event. They were not afraid of getting their hands dirty and spent the day painting the artistic mural featured below in front of PS 335 in Brooklyn, NY. The volunteers were all smiles as they gave back to the community and made the schoolyard a pleasant sight.

New York Cares Day is an annual citywide event that celebrates the importance of generosity and community. This year, thousands of individuals participated by painting murals and classrooms, among other urban revitalization tasks. Volunteers transformed 38 schools around New York City, as well as hundreds of acres of parks. Students returned to school this week greeted by these new additions, reinvigorated by the altruism of our colleagues.

City National now ranks fourth in fundraising efforts this year for New York Cares Day for schools, having raised nearly $3,000. The donations provide support for local public schools giving students access to more opportunities—helping them graduate high school, attend college, and putting them on a brighter path for the future. New York Cares is accepting donations until December 21st so there is still time to show your support.

Thanks to all colleagues and volunteers who gave their time for this meaningful cause.
