Mr. Montross joined City National Rochdale in 2013 and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Based in Texas, he is responsible for cultivating relationships with financial professionals and their clients.
Mr. Montross was previously employed with AllianceBernstein as an Investment Advisor in their Private Client Wealth Management practice and Nonprofit Advisory practice, and was responsible for advising high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and corporate executives on comprehensive investment strategies including strategic asset allocation, risk management, tax efficient wealth transfer strategies, and implementation of alternative investments. In addition, he served on the AB National Advisory Council.
Mr. Montross earned his MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas Health Science Center and his BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. He is fluent in Spanish. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Houston. Additionally, Vern earned the CPWA® designation in 2021. The CPWA® focuses on advising families with greater than $5mm in assets. He is also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor ®.
Mr. Montross enjoys travelling with his children, Ana and Parker, and his wife Sarah. He is also an avid powerlifter and fan of Texas A&M football.
